After seeing this story today about the Anatomy of a mobile device user, a survey conducted by AvantGo, I realized that I hadn’t thought of them in a while in the new context of weblogging. They’re the original aggregator! Before I knew the word aggregator, I knew what AvantGo was! My wife still uses their consumer service daily for her m515. Amen! My second PDA purchase, a Palm Vx LE, can be solely attributed to my need to carry more AvantGo channels with me. They had specially formatted content from all of the major media outlets, plus their software did a great job of formatting regular HTML content for the Palm’s miniscule screen.
AvantGo was my killer app.
