Fedora has been kicking my ass the last few days. First I installed Fedora Core 3 Test 1, and every time I tried yum -y update or up2date they would churn for a while and either complain that it couldn’t resolve a dependancy, or they would drop some errors about missing / corrupt headers and eventually go off into la-la-land. I was going to try switching to apt, but none of the repositories I had used before were set up for FC3 yet.
So I downgraded to Core 2 and experienced the exact same results.
Not much fun.
This morning I guess I forgot about apt and decided to use rsync to create a local FC2 repository instead, much like I’ve been doing with Debian forever. 3,175MB worth of downloaded files later, after adjusting /etc/yum.conf it took about 10 minutes for yum -y update to install 170 updated packages. Sweet!
