My job satisfaction continues to decline. I’m in a position now that I ought to love. My boss and most of my peers work from other locations. I have my own office with a door and a window. With a good percentage raise this month my salary is no longer embarrassingly low… but it’s still a long way from my 2000 / 2001 levels.

The problem I have now is that I’m just not seeing any results from my work. I’ve completed the development side of two new product offerings, neither have launched due to an assortment of issues with other groups. I’m juggling four non-product projects, none of which seem to be going anywhere due to lack of commitment. The only things that have gone all the way are some documentation and one very minor automation project.

I’m not in a happy place.

My mental goal had been to get my bank balance to a certain level. Spend a month or so travelling in Europe, quit this company, and then either fully commit myself to one of my business ideas or take another full-time position in an area with a stronger web hosting market.

I’m at the halfway mark now. Unless I can find a way to significantly boost my outside income without burning myself out it’s going to take another year to reach my goal.

Stuck between the friggin’ rock and the proverbial hard place.

I really don’t want to waste another year with this company. Leaving now means finding another job, which I’d likely have to relocate for, which would be a major drain on my savings, which would probably cause me to take even longer to reach my financial goal.

Anyone out there know of a good web hosting company that knows how to treat people, pays well, offers a full relocation package, and is likely to be hiring soon?
