I really should have checked the damned schedule to catch the early-morning direct train. The 4-ish hour direct ride turned into 6+ hours with 4 train changes. The second switch was in this podunk town where you have to walk across the tracks and they haul out signs to indicate which train it is. My train to Furth im Wald was apparently a one-car deal that they hide way the fuck off on tiny side-track. So I missed it. Three hours until the next one…
The train ride to Furth im Wald is only like 20 minutes, I would just hop a cab except there are none.
On the plus side, I got a hot dog and beer for about a buck. And the weather is pleasant, warm sun with cool air, like Florida a month ago. Guess I can work on my tan…

In the end, I got back to Regensburg about 2 hours earlier than I would have with the 5:15PM direct train. Only I left like 7 hours early… And to add insult to injury, the elevator in Paul’s building is defekt. I was feeling really good about myself after all the walking in Prague, but climbing four flights of stairs quickly killed that.
