Aside from 60MPH winds and rain bands, Dennis left SE Florida alone. Looks like Emily is going to leave us alone too, the last two 5-Day Cones of Death have been shifting to the south. Getting nailed by a tropical system always sucks but I’ve been worried about this one because I’m going racing on Sunday!
Equipe Rapide Sports Car Club sponsors an Autocross event about once per month, this Sunday at the Homestead facility. I attended their monthly meeting on Monday. Emily was a big concern. Along with SCCA Nationals. This group may be a little too hard-core for me. I did learn what they are paying for Sunday track rentals at several local facilities — it is surprisingly inexpensive.
Anyhoo. I picked up a Helmet on Monday, my AccessPort ECU programmer arrived Friday, the Armrest Extension yesterday. I also got Subaru’s single-DIN fill-in pocket, hoping that it might be able to hold a Mac Mini or Mini-ITX system, but it’s much too small. Might still be useful for mounting storage devices. Had I mentioned that I’m planning to build a Car PC? I’m deep into hardware research right now and have been shocked by the lack on in-dash solutions out there.
This weekend I’ll probably order the exhaust upgrades. I’m torn between a low-end $850 system with no cats and a top quality setup with one cat that goes for about $1400 (stock has three cats).
