Don’t think that I’ve mentioned it, but comments have been disabled for some time due to such massive quantities of spam that I’m no longer able to keep up with approving the legit comments. Technically, commenting is just restricted to registered users, but registration is disabled so comments are effectively shut down. The theme I’m using doesn’t contemplate this particular configuration so the comment box still appears even tho nobody can use it.
I want to say that I hope to remedy the situation once I upgrade to WordPress 2.0.x, which includes an anti-spam plug-in…
But I probably won’t.
Comments on weblogs have outlived their usefulness.
