I would have had my new Dell today, but for whatever reason the UPS person decided that today would be the day that s/he would actually get the required signature instead of just knocking once and dumping the package at the front door.
Oh well. Hopefully tomorrow someone will answer when the UPS person knocks.
Now […]

Waiting is the hardest part
31Jan07Dude, I’m getting a Dell
27Jan07Pulled the trigger this morning on a Dell Dimension 9200. It’s always an adventure buying a Dell because the prices change practically daily. Well, once or twice a week. This morning the price was right — $609 before taxes with free shipping for a Core 2 1.8GHz, 1GB RAM, 250GB SATA, and a GeForce 7300LE. […]
That didn’t take long
26Jan07My ‘blog was outed at work and I was summoned to the Principal’s office on Tuesday morning. Err, my director’s office, for a conference call with our VP in Atlanta. It wasn’t so bad, really not bad at all, just perhaps a bit nit-picky. I decided to make a couple of changes.
The job posting is […]
Please don’t use GoDaddy
26Jan07Seclists.org was shut down by GoDaddy at MySpace’s request for archiving a fulldisclosure mailing list posting of yet-another-list of MySpace user passwords. In my opinion a […]
GooTube
19Jan07I’m probably in the smallest of minorities here, but I actually preferred Google Video over YouTube. Google Video is far from perfect, and I’m sure that YouTube has some advantages, but these two screenshots demonstrate why I use Google Video for my videos:
Google’s video area is huge! It actually resizes to use the space available!
The […]
Cisco 7940 / 7960 SIP Firmware
19Jan07Cisco’s web site is serving up the 7940 / 7960 VOIP phone SIP firmware (v8.2, March 2006) for free. Sorta. There’s a click-thru agreement that basically says you won’t download it without having a current and valid support contract. You can also directly FTP it from here.
My Favorite Purchases of 2006
18Jan07I didn’t purchase many gizmos last year, most of my discretionary spending went towards modding my car, but at least this year I can report that I did not end the previous year with a huge pile of crap.
MacBook — Peer 1 paid for it, but I consider it mine. I wish that it had […]
I Dream of Mac
18Jan07or Why My Next PC Won’t Be From Apple.
I’m pretty satisfied with my mid-level Core Duo MacBook. We put 2GB RAM in it from day one, and upgraded the hard drive to 160GB a few months back. It’s been my primary PC for a month or so. My home PC lost it’s OS drive recently […]
