Since switching themes many of my posts have been littered with ads for PDAs, Phones, and Ringtones. While I’m sure they pay good they aren’t exactly relevant to many of my more recent posts. Despite using section targeting to emphasize my actual content and de-emphasize everything else, Adsense seems to be latching on to the tag cloud for keywords.
My old theme had been tweaked to use the evil practice of cloaking to hide irrelevant content. Activating wp-cache broke it a bit but since there was less keyword-rich static content on each page it didn’t make much of a difference.
Rather than disable the tag cloud I’ve re-implemented cloaking in the new theme and modified wp-cache to never serve cached content to Google. I eagerly await my banishment from the index…
